Own Your Narrative: Why telling stories is your best strategy in the age of AI

Use AI as a conscious communication tool, knowing when to use it and when to trust your own voice.

Short introduction

Most of us were never taught how to talk about our work. We were taught how to do it. We write papers, run projects, teach students, manage teams and somewhere along the way, we assume that the work speaks for itself. It rarely does.

This five-day workshop is built around one idea: that knowing how to tell your story is a strategic skill. Along the way, you will discover how storytelling, personal narrative and strategic communication connect and how to use that connection intentionally. In a world where AI can generate content in seconds, the only thing that cannot be replicated is your perspective, your experience and the way you make sense of what you do.

Own Your Narrative is a storytelling workshop with a strategic core. Each day builds on the previous one - from understanding what you stand for, through finding the story that makes your work memorable, to learning to communicate it to different audiences. On the final day, everything comes together.

You will be able to:

Understand how storytelling, personal narrative and strategic communication work together, and how to use them intentionally

Articulate what you stand for in one clear, memorable sentence.

Explain your work to any audience (specialist or non-specialist) without losing its meaning.

Turn your professional experience into a story that is easy to understand and remember.

Use AI as a conscious communication tool, knowing when to use it and when to trust your own voice.

Take a first concrete step toward making your work visible to the people who need to hear it.

Preliminary program of week

Monday - Strategy: What do you stand for?

Before you tell a story, you need to know what it is about. Participants explore what they want to be known for and why - starting with a question most of us have never been asked to answer out loud: what do I stand for and why does it matter?

Tuesday - Communication: How do you make it understood?

Having something to say is not the same as being understood. Participants practice explaining their work in simple language for different audiences, without losing substance and discover which words land and which ones get in the way.

Wednesday - Storytelling: When does a message become a story?

Facts inform. Stories stay. Participants explore the structure of narrative - tension, change, meaning and practice turning their professional journey into a story worth telling.

Thursday - AI: What makes your story irreplaceable?

If anyone can generate content, what makes yours worth reading? Participants experiment with AI as a writing partner and reflect on where the human voice is irreplaceable and where it is not.

Friday - Visibility: How do your ideas reach people?

A story without an audience is just a diary. The final day is about finding yours - mapping who you want to reach, where they are and what one small, realistic step looks like.
